![]() The store we previously went to said they are no longer under warranty and they can't do it for free. Now we have several cabinets with small splits in them, a few have actually warped, and we need to have most of them repainted because the area around the handle and the edges have normal wear and tear. I guess it was still under warranty because the store we took it to ( not where we purchased them ) said that should never happen and they fixed the problem for free. Several years ago I noticed the frame around one cabinet door had little one inch splits in it. When we purchased them, through a company that has since gone out of business, we were told there was a lifetime warranty on them and the representative, who has four kids, said she'd had her cabinets repainted a few times because her kids were so hard on them and she'd never had any problem with the company. We remodeled our kitchen and installed Brookhaven cabinets about 12 years ago. I find it amazing that a company with such a good reputation could be so slipshod in its order process. These problems were all resolved in the end, but with no explanation or apologies from Wood Mode. My contractor had to take it apart and reinstall it correctly. One end panel on the island was mounted upside down. Several drawer fronts were incorrect and had to be ordered again. Several doors were damaged, in shipping I suppose. ![]() It took several weeks after the scheduled delivery date for everything to show up. Inexplicably, the shipment did not contain all the cabinets, something Wood Mode neglected to tell us. To my surprise, however, there were a half-dozen quality control issues. I recently renovated my kitchen and installed Brookhaven cabinets. So don't buy these if you intend to stack dishes in them, for instance. I've replaced some of them but they broke also. Yes, I put a lot of heavy stuff in those drawers but no one said they were only for light duty! The drawers still do slide OK but the plastic is cracked and sags downward. They are not nearly strong enough and most have cracked and sagged. My one disappointment has been the plastic pieces that support the pull out drawers. The trash basket sliders ultimately rusted and needed replacement for looks, but they are located between the sink and dishwasher so have lived in a humid area. ![]() Most of the interior accessories such as corner lazy susans still work smoothly and look brand new. There has been some change in the wood color as happens with any wood product exposed to light, but the change is very uniform. I would be surprised if a new owner felt the need to change them out as the only light wear is around the handles, but you never know. The Brookhaven cabinets in a natural maple finish have held up very very well. if you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to text me 4075048623.Just happened across this site when I was looking for the details on our cabinets now that we are preparing to sell our house. always trying to outdo the previous year to make their stockholders happy. also this time of year is several builders ”year end” which undortunately is when they have a mad rush to close as many house as they can. some builders include a service bump in their contract and some dont. if youre getting resistance from your builder that usually means theres a tug of war about whos going to pay for the service. your punch out tech ahould have a cleaning solution that will clean that off. usually the wrong sheen on filled areas is because the installer didn't take time to wipe away the excess putty / caulk. and they are usually willing to replace several doors on a job if you feel they have too many loose joints. so as long as you dont have to get right on top of it to see it they should be willing to address. i believe timberakes policy is what does it look like from an arms distance. put painters tape on every issue and keep referring to the model. generally they try to make the model look really good but your house shouldnt look any less than how they have displayed the cabinets in the model. my advice is take each area of concern and compare it to the model. if you have unfilled nail holes it sounds to me like your punch out hasnt been done yet which should also address your other issues. this may not always be the case but generally. whats the name of your cabinet line? i know the color is linen but whats the name of the cabinet? typically the installation is also done by timberlake. i worked for timberlake for about 15 years and still use their product for my cabinet jobs.
